Sacred Space and Earth Mysteries

A Seminar given by Sig Lonegren to the
British Society of Dowsers - Earth Energies Group
At the Kennet Valley Hall, Lockeridge, Wiltshire

January 2003

Sig Lonegren is a big man. He has a big frame, a big voice, an even larger personality - and a great wealth of knowledge and experience, of practical and spiritual dowsing, gained over many years of work on both sides of the Atlantic.

A weekend spent in the Kennett Valley, so close to one of the epicentres of dowsing activity (at least as far as central southern England is concerned), is always a pleasure. To do so in the company of 29 like-minded souls was a delight.

Sacred space is potentially such a vast topic that a weekend seminar can only ever provide the narrowest of windows on the subject. Yet I came away feeling I understood the subject on a subtly different level.

In the short time available, we were taught how to establish Sacred Space and how to use it. We heard presentations relating to sacred sites in North America and the construction and use of Labyrinths. We managed visits to some of the more significant local sites (The Sanctuary, West Kennett Long Barrow and Avebury itself). We constructed a sacred space in the dark, after determining the appropriate orientation from the stars and we even found time for a session of Healing using the space we had set up. As this was the first time I had ever been either a Healer or a Healee(?!), this was a particularly rewarding, if slightly unnerving, experience.

The excellent catering, care of the nearby Who'd a Thought It pub, was an added bonus and the seamless administration of the EEGs Nenette Scrivener neatly held the event together.

Anyone interested in this field, who would like a weekend of talks and practical sessions, given in a respectful, even reverential, style - interspersed with a generous helping of mid-Atlantic humour - would be well advised to seek out one of Sig's courses.

Sig offered to visit and speak to the Tamar Dowsers, and agreed to write something for our website. Hopefully, we can take him up on both counts in due course.
